What it does
Practice the conversation, then study the evidence.
Most practice tools give you a list of questions. Openskill gives you a conversation. The AI listens, asks follow-up questions about the examples you give, and keeps going until the session is done. A Coach chat is also available for career questions, and it can design a tailored session and launch it for you.
How it works
How a session works, step by step.
- 1. Choose what to practice.
Paste a job description, share a job posting URL, describe a role in your own words, or pick a ready-made session from the library. Upload your resume so the questions draw on your real background.
- 2. Pick a mode.
Practice mode is fair and supportive and runs about 15 minutes. Grill mode is tougher, pushes every answer to first principles, and runs about 25 minutes.
- 3. Talk it through.
The AI opens with a short introduction and asks you to introduce yourself. You can cut in mid-sentence, and you can turn on a "let me finish" listening mode when you need to give a long answer. Live captions show each word as it is said.
- 4. Review your report.
When the session ends, Openskill saves the recording and builds a scored feedback report from what you said.
- 5. Work on the gaps.
Start a short "Strengthen a gap" voice session on a weak spot from the report, or run the same session again and compare your scores on the Progress page.
Types and modes
Three session types, two modes.
Every session type can run in Practice mode (about 15 minutes) or Grill mode (about 25 minutes). The setup screen explains Grill before you start, so you always know what you chose.
Case
The AI acts as a case partner, gives you a prompt, shares data through on-screen exhibits, and probes your reasoning step by step.
Roleplay
The AI plays an in-character counterpart, such as a hiring manager in a final round, and you respond as you would in the room.

What you get when the session ends.
Competency radar
A score for each skill that matters in this session, such as depth, structure and relevance, so you see strengths and gaps at a glance.
Chaptered recording
A player with a chapter marker for each question, so you can jump to any moment.
Question-by-question breakdown
For each question, a short "Coach's take" and your own answer shown next to a strong answer, with a note on why the strong answer works.
